Stroud and District Motor Club

The Stroud and District Motor Club has been in existance since 1950 and stages motor sports events throughout the year, mainly concentrating on trialling - both Production Car Trials (PCT's) and Classic Trials.

There are three main Classic trials run by the club each year starting with the prestigious Cotswold CLouds which is generally at the beginning of February and takes in a number of historic and newer hills in the beautiful surroundings of the Cotswold Hills around the Stroud area in which the club is based. The trial has its origins in the "Gloucester Trial", a fantastic old video of which can be seen here.

In March, the Mechanics Trial is run, being one of the oldest trials in the area and switched recently from November to it's March date.

The final Classic run by the club is the Ebworth trial which takes place in October entirely in the delightful setting of Ebworth Chase Woods.

If you want the extra benefits that having a log on to the SDMC website bring, then please use the "Contact Us" form in order to request a registration and login by selecting it from the menu on the left.

Entry forms and Regulations are now available for the 2012 Mechanics and Clubmans Classic Trials.

The Regulations are available here, and the entry form for the Mechanics Classic trial is here, and for the Clubman's Classic here.

A great days Motorsport in the Cotswolds........

Supplementary Regulations are now available for the Mechanics and Clubmans Classic Trial to be held on Sunday 11th March.  This year’s event will run in the successful format of recent years, with a mixture of true classic road trial sections, of which some are pre-war and wooded tracks.  The organising team this year includes Nigel Moss, Emma Wall, Debbie Moss, Mark Hobbs, Bryan Phipps and Del Lloyd.

Following the success of last year running with the main trial will be THE CLUBMANS TRIAL.  This will cover the same route and sections but with very few restarts and more generous start lines.  It is an ideal event for newcomers and the less competitive car and driver (it is not a Class O event).  The Mechanics and Clubmans Trial will be run on a Clubmans permit with no MSA Competition Licence required.

Both events will run the usual ACTC classes with Overall and Class awards for both events.

Both entry forms depending on which event you wish to enter are attached.

We look forward to seeing you there.
